Luke joined MK Dons from Norwich City in January 2008 following a brilliant eight-game loan spell earlier in the season.
Out of favour and short on fitness at Carrow Road, Luke arrived at stadiummk looking to rediscover some of the form that saw him pick up a Premier League winners' medal with Manchester United in 2001. He became an instant fans' favourite with his exciting wing play and midfield ingenuity, scoring three goals in the start of the Dons ascent up the League 1 table.
His loan spell came to a premature end in November when he injured his knee in training and returned to Carrow Road. Roberto Di Matteo agreed a free transfer to bring him back to stadiummk six weeks later.
The Cambridge-born winger is a graduate of the famous United Academy and made 39 appearances for the Red Devils between 1999 and 2004.
During his time at Old Trafford, Luke enjoyed loan spells with Reading and Burnley as well as Belgian side Royal Antwerp, before completing a permanent transfer to West Ham United in 2004. He made 36 appearances for the Hammers over two seasons at Upton Park, enhancing his growing reputation as a creative midfield player.
Having initially taken him on a six-month loan, Stoke City paid £100,000 to secure Luke's services on a permanent basis in January 2006 and he quickly became a fans' favourite at the Britannia Stadium.
Norwich were alerted to Luke's considerable talents and fought to take the winger to Carrow Road, eventually managing to secure a loan deal in November 2006 before making the move permanent in January 2007 for a fee of £200,000.
Injury robbed Luke of many chances to impress at Carrow Road and he ended his two-year stint with the Canaries with just 18 Norwich appearances to his name.
