New signing Miguel Angel Llera got a very English welcome to training on Thursday - a downpour that was torrential even by British standards!

The Dons' new Spanish defender trained with his new team mates for the second time this morning after signing a one-year deal with the Club on Monday.

And he was given a good chance to acclimatise to the English weather as autumn truly kicked in and the heavens opened towards the end of the session.

Nobody took the slightest bit of notice though, as Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo, assistant manager Eddie Newton and fitness coach Ade Mafe took an enjoyable session with all bar Danny Swailes involved.

The Dons defender made the trip to London to undergo surgery on his troublesome Achilles - an operation that proved highly successful - and returns to MK on Friday to begin his rehabilitation.

Florian Sturm made his return to training after overcoming a groin injury while Luke Howell has trained this week after shaking off a minor thigh strain. Both could be in contention to face Yeovil Town at stadiummk this Saturday.

The session included plenty of ballwork, with technique drills and finishing practice followed by a small-sided game where touch was tested by the extreme weather conditions.
